1. Lincoln refused to compromise on freeing slaves before the south was reintroduced to the union. Thaddeus was also resolute that slaves should be freed though he cared not whether it happened before or after the south was reintroduced to the union except that they would not be able to block or undo the amendment. They are willing to compromise on the subject of "coloured" people having equality under the law. 2. In many scenes Lincoln speaks of his hatred for slavery but does not refer to the end of slavery as necessary until later in the negotiations with the south. Letters From Ohio Inf.  This collection of letters from regiments that served with the Ohio 68th, the regiment in which my Great Great Great Grandfather Henderson J. Hunter. While the connection to my own relative is what ties these letters together, the striking discordance between the terrible acts of war surrounding them on a daily basis and the sanguine nature of their letters shows how soldiers found solace in the few humane actions they had the luck to encounter or by some force of providence enact themselves. This letter depicts how soldiers hardened themselves to the trials of war. Even in a position of exhaustion W.S. Hubbell keeps a sole focus on bettering the state of the war for the north. As with the previous letter it doesn't seem to fit the criteria of "sanguine nature," and that it because it doesn't. If he uses the same citation in sequence he uses ibid, the English version of latin   meaning "in the same place" Its pertinent knowledge that doesn't fit in the text, and he provides information about where and how he got ideas, describing the process of his research. 10, 11. He does this to reference themes of a book or ideas or information about the situations in the text and to describe his process of research. He uses quotes around the info he uses and states in the text the author and title then restates the source in the notes.
