1. In Dr.Strangelove the catalyst to the entire story is that a low level Officer fakes a "Plan R" to trick his men into thinking they are retaliating when in reality they are initiating the war. Then in attempts to stop the attacks the Russians damage communications with the planes making it impossible for the U.S. recall the mission and forcing a situation in which people must deal with knowing their death is just minutes away. The movie itself is a satire and therefore is fiction in its happenings but not in its antecedent circumstance. In America there was a worry that with the Nuclear Triad putting(Smithsonian Institute) so many lower ranking people in a position in which at a critical moment they could decide whether to launch or hold nuclear missiles, that one such person might take authority into their own hands and begin a war. 1. The most important thing I learned pertaining to both immigration in century 19 and today is that slowed assimilation is that the reason so many stereotypes about immigrants exist. Assimilation, for many immigrants, has (and at the time of the nativist movements had) not had enough time to take effect and this causes Immigrants to be thought of as "other" and "lazy" in that they "don't work hard enough to become American." 2. The Equal Justice initiative claims that the causation of mass incarceration rates of blacks in America is due to a social progression starting in the times of slavery and continuing through Reconstruction, Jim Crowe Laws, all the way to the present day. To express this they employ many methods of conveying facts in writing, but more than that they also convey the feeling and temperament of the times through art, E.g. monuments, memorials, and museums. If I were asked to prepare a piece of art to accomplish this same mission I would use the modern dance style and the ideologies of its creators. I would choose modern over other styles because it has social foundation in black communities that Africana and Hip-Hop do but also the storytelling nature of Ballet. And why not just choose ballet?
