Mineshaft room
Items from a mine shaft housing unit showing the reality of the conditions people were prepared to live in, in the eventuality of a fallout.
War Room
The war room was the command center in which the leaders of all five branches of the military and the political leaders made crunch time decisions.
B-29
A B-29 bomber plane. At all hours of every day these planes were within striking distance of major targets in Russia. It is the only plane in the U.S. fleet that can drop both conventional and thermonuclear bombs.
Nuclear Bomb
Bombs were the centerpiece to all of the fear and actions taken during the cold war, and as such the bomb would be at the center of the party.
Survival Kit
The movie goes into the describing of everything in the survival kits in the plane and for good reason. Pilots who would be flying into danger placed their hope of surviving a crash in these kits.
Radar system
Radar was the only way for countries to judge whether an attack was incoming or not. Occasionally the radar at the party will fail and show countless missiles incoming just as happed occasionally during the cod war.
Potsdam Table
This table is where the tensions that arose to bring about the cold war fears.The meeting that took place here was a failure and contributed to the anger that fueled the cold war.
Moscow Hotline
The Moscow hotline was very important and symbolic as one of the few peaceful connections to Russia that didn't involve putting high priority people in danger.
